Are you all buckled up Minnesota buttercups? No? Well then. Get to it.

Because it’s JUNE! In Minnesota! There’s so much to do, so many outdoor events to take in, and and we’re not getting any younger so let’s get after it. Unless of course, you hate the heat and humidity, then you can sit yourself down on your couch in the AC and binge House of Dragons in a hurry before Season 3 debuts.

Now, If you’re ready to squeeze the most out of the summer, let’s check out what’s happening this weekend. And for fun, I’ve throw in a THIS vs. THAT section this week.

In the meantime, if you need me, I’ll be over here drinking a coconut water, seltzer, lime juice conncoction during the day, and palomas on the weekend. You know where to find me.

Enjoy,
XOX, Jen

THIS WEEKEND IN THE TWIN CITIES

🎭 Little Women at the Guthrie

📍 Guthrie Theater | 818 S 2nd St, Minneapolis
📅| 1 PM or 7:30 PM (check schedule)

Louisa May Alcott’s classic gets the full Guthrie treatment—sweeping set, big feelings, and that “I should really go to the theater more” glow as you walk out. Pair it with a riverfront dinner or a golden-hour stroll across the Stone Arch Bridge and call it a very grown‑up night out.

👸🏻 Flip Phone Drag Brunch at Union Rooftop

📍 Union Rooftop | Downtown Minneapolis
📅 Sunday | 10 AM, 12:30 PM, or 3 PM seatings

If your ideal Sunday includes glitter, pop anthems, and a strong brunch cocktail, this is it. Flip Phone’s themed drag brunches turn Union Rooftop into a full show—big crowd energy, over‑the‑top performances, and plenty of chances to scream‑sing along and tip your favorites.

🐍 Minnesota Reptile Show at the Fairgrounds

📍 North End Event Center, MN State Fairgrounds, St. Paul
📅 Sunday, June 7 | 10 AM – 4 PM

Snakes, geckos, turtles, and the most dedicated reptile people you’ve ever met—all under one roof. It’s part pet expo, part people‑watching, and a very fun left‑turn option if you’re bored of the usual brunch‑and‑Target loop.

💦 Jim Lupient Water Park

📍 1520 Johnson St NE, Minneapolis
📅 Daily | 1 PM – 7 PM (summer season)

Northeast’s go‑to water park has three big slides, a tube slide, splash features, and a zero‑depth entry pool that works for toddlers, big kids, and adults who just need to float for a minute. It fills up fast on hot days, so treat it like a “get there early, stay until everyone’s pleasantly tired” kind of outing.

🌿 Garden Storytime at Eloise Butler

📍 Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden, Theodore Wirth Park, Minneapolis
📅 Select mornings | 10 AM – 10:30/11:30 AM

Short, sweet, and very wholesome: Garden Storytime is a half‑hour of nature‑themed stories and tiny “micro‑hikes” in the wildflower garden’s circle area.

🌈 STP Pride Festival at Dual Citizen

📍 Dual Citizen Brewing | 725 Raymond Ave, St. Paul
📅 June 13–14 | 12 PM – 8 PM both days

Saint Paul’s neighborhood‑scale Pride party takes over Dual Citizen for two days of live music, DJs, food trucks, breakdance cyphers, and a youth + family section. It’s big enough to feel like a real festival but still cozy enough that you’ll spot familiar faces and actually be able to find your friends.

Real Estate Curious

This vs. That: $525 Edition

Who wants to play a game? Oh gooood, this will be fun. We’re going to do a little “what’s what” when it comes to numbers in the Twin Cities. This edition is Real Estate vs. Snack Attack. What will $525 get you?

(pssst - if you’re extra curious here’s my latest rundown on what’s happening in the market)

$525K in Twin Cities real estate will get you:

Cottage Grove
4 bed + 4 bath
3,278 sq. feet

MPLS - East Isles
4 bed + 3 bath
2,250 sq. feet

Rosemount
3 bed + 3 bath
2,400 sq. feet

And because I know you LUV a good snack attack, here’s what $5.25 will get you.

Tacos are $2.50 on Tuesdays at Taqueria EL PATRÓN on Xerxes & 50th. If you want a bite that’s a little more snack‑a‑licious, this is where you’re gonna want to be.

This gluten-free (yes it’s still AH-mazing) peanut butter sea salt cookie at Brim is my current favorite treat. Under $5. Go treat yo-self.

Spending $525K on a property may or may not feel a little more intense than $5.25 on a cookie. But I’d argue the sea salt on that PB cookie brings a real level of excitement to life.

Wondering what your current place might go for? Shoot me a message and I’ll send you an estimate (I’m more skilled than AI, I promise 😉).

THIS WEEK'S BAD JOKES

🌞 What's the best day to hit the beach? SUNday, obviously.

💦 Why did the swimmer bring a ladder to the water park? She heard the slides were next level.

🍅 Why did the tomato blush in the garden? Because it saw the salad dressing.
