Oh hey there. Fancy seeing you here.
As you know, we’ve officially reached the peak state of humidity where my hair WILL NOT BE TAMED, my skin is very well‑hydrated, and the air is so thick it’s a little challenging to get a full deep breath. But Minnesotans are hardy; we weather all the storms with grace, class, courage, tenacity, and a little extra spice in our veins.
So if you’re still here and ready to party your pants off this weekend, I’ve got this week’s picks all set for you, and another This vs. That: $800 Edition.
Enjoy bambinos,

Real Estate Curious
This vs. That: $800 Edition
Who wants to play another round? Oh gooood, this will be fun.
Last time we played the “What will $525 get you?” game. This week, we’re bumping the budget and asking: what does $800K buy you in the Twin Cities right now, and is it worth the stretch?
This edition is Real Estate vs. Experiences. Let’s go.

Golden Valley
$799,900
4 bed + 3 bath
3,530 sq. feet

MPLS - Linden Hills
$799,900
5 bed + 2 bath
2,897 sq. feet

St. Paul - Summit Ave.
$789,900
5 bed + 3 bath
3,000 sq. feet
What $800 gets you in experiences
Last round, we paired $525K homes with $5.25 snacks. This time, we’re asking: if you carved out $800 from that imaginary $800K budget, what could you blow it on instead?
And because I never want this to feel tone-deaf: most people I know are watching gas and grocery prices like a hawk. If you don’t have $800 just sitting around, we’ll tuck these into the “vision board” folder or add them to the Christmas list and call it good.
Option 1: Spa day for two at the Four Seasons

Think two 60‑minute treatments at the Four Seasons Minneapolis spa, access to the spa and wellness floor. A pair of 60‑minute massages plus tax and gratuity can land you somewhere in the 500–700 dollar range, and tossing in poolside drinks or a Mara snack could easily nudge you right up against 800.
Option 2: Twins season passes + nachos in a hat

The Twins Pass for 2026 clocks in at about $229 per person if you buy early, and it gets you access to all 80 regular‑season home games—roughly 2.86 dollars per game, which is kind of wild. Two passes = $458, which still leaves you roughly $342 for nachos in a hat, hot dogs, and all da beerz.
Option 3: Candy barzzz

When I was a kid (and obviously still sometimes as an adult) I measured money in candy bars. I’d make $15 for a day of organizing the garage, and my first thought was I COULD BUY 15 CANDYBARS WITH THIS!!! My go-to being a Snicks or Twix. If you wanna live that kid life today, with candy bars hovering around 1-2 bucks, that puts you somewhere in the 400–800 candy bar range. Is this a scientific calculation? Absolutely not. But it just might be enough to turn your block into a Halloween destination in July or fill the back of a Subaru for a youth sports fundraiser.
THIS WEEK'S BAD JOKES
🌭 Why did the bratwurst get invited to every summer party? It really knew how to link up.
⛱ Why did the beach towel apply for a job? It wanted to get laid out more often.
🌽 Why did the ear of corn start budgeting? It heard gas and groceries were going up and didn’t want to feel shucked.
