Hiya from this Minnesota city-ish girl with mud still on her hiking boots from a week waaaaay up north in the wildnerness (Isle Royale).
Now I’m back in Minneapolis, trying to keep that in-the-wild inner pace while I jump straight into foody land in the city I love. Which, conveniently, looks like eating my way through 50th & France’s Restaurant Week and calling it “work.” Check out the deets below.
Oh hey, don’t hesitate to hit the reply button if you’ve got thoughts, or questions or deep inner meanderings you’d like to share. I’ll read it, and I bet I’ll care about what you share.

50th & France Restaurant Week | June 22–28
Here are just a few of the highlights. Get the full list of participating restaurants and dining deals HERE.
🍛 Raag Progressive Indian (Sponsored by 50th and France)
📍 Raag Progressive Indian Cuisine | 3808 W 50th St, Mpls
📅 Restaurant Week: June 22–28
💸 Lunch for two: $25 | Dinner for two: $45 | BOGO house wine & beer
Yes, this one’s sponsored, but I’ve had it, and LOVE their Progressive Indian! Raag is doing a lunch‑for‑two and dinner‑for‑two special plus buy‑one‑get‑one house wine and beer, which makes this one of the best “we deserve a night out” values on the street. Built‑in menu curation, cozy atmosphere, and the feeling that you’re trying something a little more special than your usual rotation.
🥂 noma hi fi bar – Cocktails + Snack
📍 noma hi fi bar | Nolan Mains
📅 Restaurant Week: June 22–28
💸 Two select cocktails + a snack: $40
For when you want more of a vibe than a full meal: two cocktails and a snack for 40 dollars at noma hi fi bar. Think pre‑ or post‑dinner stop, or a summer evening where you just want to sit somewhere pretty, sip something good, and listen to whatever they’re spinning.
🍣 AMA Sushi – Sushi Bucket + Freebie
📍 AMA Sushi | 50th & France district
📅 Restaurant Week: June 22–28
💸 Buy any Sushi Bucket, get a free seaweed salad
If your love language is sushi, AMA is making it easy to say yes: any Sushi Bucket comes with a free seaweed salad this week. Ideal “meet a friend, split everything, debrief life” energy, and an easy add‑on if you’re already in Edina for shopping or a movie.
🍕 Mothership Pizza Paradise – Pizza + Small Plate
📍 Mothership Pizza Paradise | 50th & France
📅 Restaurant Week: June 22–28
💸 Buy a pizza, get $2 off any small plate
This is your casual hangout option: grab a pizza, tack on a discounted small plate, and suddenly you’ve got a mini spread that feels more like a party than a Wednesday. Ideal for families, friend groups, or “we don’t want to dress up but we do want good pizza” nights.
🧀 Bojae’s / Blanche Board + Bottle
📍 Bojae’s at Nolan Mains | 3945 Market St, Edina
📅 Restaurant Week: June 22–28
💸 Blanche cheese board + bottle of Vinho Verde for $45
This is your “we could be in Europe” moment. A full cheese board and a bottle of crisp Vinho Verde for 45 dollars is peak patio‑date material—perfect before or after strolling the Nolan Mains courtyard. Low‑lift, high‑vibe, and ideal if you want a night out that doesn’t feel like a full production.
🥂 Mr. Paul’s Supper Club – Classic 3‑Course
📍 Mr. Paul’s Supper Club | Nolan Mains
📅 Restaurant Week: June 22–28
💸 3‑course dinner (app, entrée, dessert) | Add house wine bottle for $30
New Orleans energy in Edina: choose gumbo or a wedge salad, étouffée or pork chop, and finish with powdered‑sugar beignets. Add a bottle of house wine for 30 and you’ve got a full Supper Club experience without the mental gymnastics of ordering. This is the “dress up and celebrate something” pick.

Hot Take from a Minnesota Girl with Mud on Her Boots
On city life, wilderness, and what Minnesota’s land is trying to tell us.
I’m really a this AND that kind of gal when it comes to where I spend my time and live. I LOVE the hum of the city, and every once in a while I miss the kind of quiet you can only find way up north. The suburbs? Still not my thing.
This spring my whole being was craving nature, so I went off‑grid in the backwoods of Isle Royale and let my nervous system finally exhale. Somewhere between the loons and the pine trees, it hit me how much of our lives live in the “left column”—competition, extraction, hustle, head, talking—and how badly so many of us are craving the other side of the list.
If you’re feeling that tug toward less either/or and more this AND that, you can read all about my thoughts on how a little more yin might heal our over‑yang lives right over here. Click below 😉
Because terrible puns are a public service
THIS WEEK'S BAD JOKES
🧀 What did the cheese board say to the bottle of wine? "You complete brie."
🌲 Why did the pine tree get invited to every party? It really knew how to spruce things up.
🛶 I bought a canoe online but it came with no paddle. Now I'm up a creek.
